Quantifying Global Polarization: Detection and Analysis of Opinion Groups on the Gaza Conflict at International Level Based on Reddit Data
Published in Submitted for publication at Journal of Computational Social Sciences (Springer), 2027
This paper presents a robust computational framework to map global public opinion and ideological polarization on the Gaza conflict, using Reddit data. The pipeline integrates large-scale data engineering, LLM-based zero-shot feature extraction with human-in-the-loop validation, and a robust mixed-data clustering framework, uncovering a bidimensional structure of digital polarization: a horizontal ideological axis (pro-Israel vs. pro-Palestine) and a vertical deliberative-affective axis (analytical/emotional vs. hostile/reactive). Status: submitted for publication.
